There are a few themes that come up repeatedly in Gary Paulsen's Woodsong. In a single paragraph identify one theme and explain why you believe it is one of the author's intended messages. Use examples from the book to support your theme. Good luck!
One of the themes ive identifed in Gary Paulsen's WOODSONG was trust.Trust is very important in this book because Gary needed to learn how to trust the dogs when they were his source of transpertation. And he learned that when he didnt trust them there was a serious price to pay.the dogs had to learn to trust Gary also. They had to know that he wont hurt them and he wants to take good care of them.Another sign of trust in this book is when Gary fell off the sled and the dogs came back to save him. That shows that he can trust the dogs if he is injured and they will respect him and not run away.
A theme from Woodsong was perseverance, some examples from Woodsong was when Storm was spraying out diarrhea, Gary Paulsen tried to put him on the sled but he refussed to stop running he kept on running so Gary Paulsen let him run. Another example was when Gary Paulsen took another road and he fell of the sled and fell of a frozen waterfall and broke his knee cap the dogs went on the other side of the waterfall trying to get to Gary Paulsen to help him and they did not give up until they got to him to save him. Those are some examples of the theme, perseverance.
A message repeated in Woodsong was Life and Loyalty, Gary Paulsen has watched his dogs grew old. But he also watched two of his own sled dogs die. I think i picked Life because Gary Paulsen loved his dogs but he wanted them to enjoy running the Iditarod race with him. I picked Loyalty because his dogs was kind to him and he was kind to the dogs that was when they started to trust each other. When Cookie (one of his main sled dog) led him of a cliff side to teach him a lesson for not trusting her. From that day on he knew he could trust his sled dogs and he never doubt them.
in Gary Pualsen's book Woodsong, he talks all about perseverence, not like i have peseverence he show that he dosn't want to give up he wants to keep on goin even though bad or good days. For example when he fell off the cliff and he thought the dogs left but they came to the rescue and the dogs tried to clean him up but then he got up and he was limping to the sled and he went on with the race cause he had faith in him self and he had perseverence most of all he was the man who had some mess up's but he kept on goinhe never gave up that is what peseverence is faith.
One of the themes I identified in in Paulsen's WOODSONG was perseverance. I picked perseverance because Gary Paulsen and team go throught many things that are bad and can be really painfull and they still keep on doing what they are doing. In the story when Strom ate hard corn he started bleeding from his rear and keep going even if was not good for him. And when Paulsen was get hit by brances during the Iditard race and that must of hurt becase it was cold and so were the branches. And that is what shows perserverance.
One of the theams I identyfied in Paulsen's woodsong was death. This is a theam that was repeted many times in the book. He encountered unexpected and violent death's in the book. Like when the doe was being killed from his reer end.He witness slow and painful death's as well .Just like storm's death it was slow and painful, he wanted to face east but he could not face that way . So that is the theam I idetified in Paulsen's Woodsong.
A message repeated in Woodsong was death. Death can be peaceful, but its not always peaceful. Death can be violent, unexpected, and slow. There was this time in Woodsong where Gary Paulsen was eating a cookie. Then he saw a cute little chipmunk. Gary Paulsen was offering the chipmunk a cookie when a red squirrel popped out of no where and killed the cute little chipmunk. He said that the squirrel looked back at him and he could see the blood of he chipmunk on the squirrels two front teeth. There was another time when he was running his dogs when they just stopped and they where running away from whatever was in front of them. Gary Paulsen got out of his sled and he saw a doe. He was wondering why the doe wasnt running away from his dogs.Gary Paulsen slowly walked towards the doe. Then he looked into her eyes and he knew then she was dead. The doe was frozen in her tracks. That was how cold it was out in the Alaskan woods.
ONE of the themes I identified in paulsen's WOODSONG was perseverance.the author brouht this message up and it repeated in WOODSONG was NEVER GIVE UP because how storm didnt stop pulling and Gary paulsen kept him and he refused to rest.
A theme from Woodsong was PERSEVERANCE that maens never give up. In this book Gary Paulsen never gave up he always had Perseverance. Every time he either got smacked or got hurt he would still move on. Paulsen brought up this theme several times when he fell and he really got hurt, he was bleeding badly. He was a good man who trained his dogs for the Iditarod. The iditarod was a very stressful thing for Paulsen.
One of the themes I indentified in Paulsens woodsong was slow death like when storm was spraying blood from the anes because he ate dry dog food when Paulsen chaind him up so that he wont live a painfull death he was trying to point east because thats how the dogs die.Another theme I indentified was human nature like when Paulsen said in chapter 1 is "I understood almost nothing about the woods until it was too late" Paulsen said this because he hunted animals but now he understands that was wrong. In conclusion I have told some themes that I indentified in the book of woodsong by Gary Paulsen.
A theme from Woodsong was perseveranse. every time paulsen was in the idiarod he never give up and when he was smacked in the face a lot of times and he never gave up also when he split his kneecap open. Also perseveranse means never give up.
One of the themes I identified in paulsen woosong was like and life you need to trust and now here it is all the life tells you death exoected learrning experrience. And now here is what humman nature has to said curiosity apalse sense of superiority. One of the part was when the wolfs where eating the dou and this part gary paulsen was there to see all of the VIOLENT DEATH. And the part the gary paulsen seid I know all about animals and I do not thing the a big animal can take a little animal bot when he was in the ice he said I was rong all alog a big animal can take a big animal down.
One of the themes I identfied in Paulsen's Woodsong was death, it is violent and unexpected a violent and unexpected in chapter 1. Another theme was Human Nature, it counts as Curousity and Loralty and superiority and in Woodsong had alot to do with Human Nature.
One of the themes that I identified in Gary Paulsen's Woodsong was unexpected death.Gary Paulsen watched some animals die while they did not kow they were going to die.
Example: The chipmunk that was attacked unexpectedly while he was on a tree.
one theme i identified was perseverance.Storm kept trying to turn his head east right befor he died. Columbia kept trying to pull the sled right when Paulsen kept saying go left. Paulsen conutined to race in the iditored after his near death experecine.
A theme from Woodsong was death. This theme was repeated many many times in Woodsong.Death can be violent and unexpected.Gary Paulson saw 2 deaths. One was his own dog...Storm.Also at the begining he saw a wolf pack eat a doe threw the rare end.So this is one of the themes I know in Woodsong
A theme from Woodsong is..."Humans aren't the only creatures with a sense of humor", because when one of his dogs(Columbia) was playing a trick on Olaf she decided to be kind of mean.
For Example "Columbia(One of Gary Paulsen's running dog) played a mean but funny trick on Olaf(another dog) by teasing him with a bone, close enough just about to the tip of his paw. So he couldn't quite get it.
One theme that I identified was everybody's persaverance. When I say everybody I mean Storm,Gary Paulsen, the team.Storm showed perserverance when blood sprayed out his rear end and Gary Paulsen put him on the sled but he kept running.Gary Paulsen showed perserverance when he broke his knee he still entered the Iditarod. Finally the team showed perserverance when they got tired of running they still kept running.
One of the themes I identified in Paulsen's Woodsong was human nature. One example is that him and the sled dogs worked together. Next, Paulsen learned that humans aren't the only creatures with sense of humor. Another example is that he showed his perserverance by never giving up. That is one theme from Woodsong.
one of the themes i indentied in paulsen's Woodsong was the way he looks at the dogs when they were growin more and more everyday, and all most all of gary pausens dog died. i really feel bad about that. but this is my theme.
One of the themes I identified in paulsen's woodsong was friendship because he always took cair of the dogs and helped them when they was sick. He also learned from them that humans arent the only ones with a sense of humer. When they was racing in the Iditarod they was working together as a team. He also learned time and time again that he didn't know as much as he thought he did when he gave storm dry dog food.
One theme on Woodsong is called human nature, because when the dog come back to rescue him G.P leaves a mesage, and that is that you think dogs are dump but there not because they have a superiority of intelligent. This is a theme from Woodsong!!!
One of the themes that I identified in Gary Paulsen's woodsong is loyalty. Gary Paulsen was loyal to the dogs and the dogs were loyal to him because they would look after each other, like when G.P. fell off a gully and riped his knee off and then the dogs came to help him, so they saved his life.that is how they are loyal to each other.
One of the themes that I have identified in woodsong was unexpected death. G.P watched two animals die while he did not know that they were going to die. G.P thinks that he knows every thing about the wild but he turns out to be wrong.
One of the theme that I identified is when Gary Paulsen was hunting and he stared to look for nature he was there was more then just nature in the woods.
One of the themes I identified in Gray Paulsen's book was respect. The sled dogs respected him and listened to him. Also when he fell and hurt himself the dogs came back to help him. This why I think respect is the most important theme in the book Woodsong.
One theme in Gary Paulson's novel "WOODSONG" is perserverane. Perserverance is one of the important themes in this story because,Gary Paulson and his team of dogs had a numerous amount of perserverance. One of Gary Paulson's dogs, Storm had perserverence because, when he was running he started bleading through his rear end, but no matter what he wouldn't give up. Another example of perserverance is, when Gary Paulson was in the Iditorod. He kept getting hurt and almost lost his life, falling off the sled bouncing off giant boulders tieing himself on the sled and then crashing from one ice wall to another. After all that happened to him he never gave up. Not once. He finished the race because of his great determination, but mostly because of his great perserverance.
One of the themes I identified in Paulsen's Woodsong was the pack of wolves and the little doe. The theme i learned was that in the book there's unexpected and violent death. It was both violent and unexpected at the same time.
One of the themes that I identified is when Gary Paulsen found out there is more to nature than hunting and killing like when he saw that little boy pet the baby doe and when he saw the doe get eaten alive and that changed the way he looked at nature for ever.
A theme from woodsong was death. the theme death was about how gary paulsen was telling the dogs to go one way but the dogs wanted to go another way so then the dogs went that way and then gary paulsen drives of a cliff.
NEVER GIVING UP!!!!!!!! I know it sounds a bit corny but think about it. When he was crossing the burn he didn`t give up. When he was crossing the gorge he didn`t give up... Think about it...
ReplyDeleteTrust is a topic, not a theme.
